FauxCon

WarHammer Miniatures!

After the roaring success of FauxCon V's WarHammer of Time event, we are happy, proud, ecstatic and generally chuffed to present three seperate WarHammer events at FauxCon VII. Each one runs a seperate day for 3 sessions, and you can enter one or all of them.

Warhammer Fantasy vs HeroClix

presented by ComixCollections

Join in the Themed fun on Saturday with Warhammer Fantasy vs HeroClix.!

Participants can either bring along their WH Fantasy army, or a set of Heroclix miniatures.

WarHammer Fantasy HeroClix

Army lists need to be submitted to the organisers in advance of the competition, as all WarHammer Fantasy armies will be converted to the HeroClix system for the competition. Armies submitted after Friday lunchtime will be penalised 100points, and no army will be accepted after Friday dinner. The converted army list will be printed out and returned to each competitor as the battles start on Saturday morning.

Armies must be painted and must be, within reason, WYSIWYG. Special Characters are encouraged - evil genii with their hordes of mooks make an excellent battle scene against the HeroClix figures.

In addition to the competition prize, a seperate WarHammer prize will be awarded based on sportsmanship and figure painting skill.

HeroClix 'armies' may be drawn from any of the DC, Marvel or Indy collection of figures, but you may not cross-genre - all figures must come from the same collection. No figures from the Legacy set will be accepted.

Figurines may be repainted to create a "backwards universe" version of a given character if such a character has appeared in a comic published since 1992. Reworked powers should be discussed with the organisers ahead of time - only approved army/power lists will be accepted on the day.

Armies consisting of evil characters will lose points for sportsmanship. Superheros able to shunt between dimensions or teleport will cost double for the purposes of this tournament due to a lack of similar powers in the WarHammer universe.

Warhammer 4.0Kg

presented by Hand-cast Miniatures

Tired of having to carefully keep track of all the points your army is worth, and being penalised for being a measly 5 points too many? Tired of organisers changing the rules to make their favoured army with less points so they can field more of them?

Well, tire no more - at FauxCon VII, we are instigating a new system of army creation which is simple and direct. Armies will be weighed rather than point-wise evaluated, and you can field up to 4kg of figures.

Obviously plastic figures are not welcome for this particular tournament - only the hardcore metal crowd should bother showing up to play. Our motto is "If it can't put out an eye, it's not worth playing with".

We recommend that you take your army to the local pharmacist or dealer to be weighed - they will have the accurate scales that will let you bring your army up to 4kg within 10g (armies that weigh less are certainly permitted, but may result in some mocking). Hollowed out figures are not permitted.

Armies will be weighed at the start of the day, and again at the end of competition. Allowing for grubby fingers and some paint wear, unless your army weighs the same at both points, you will not be eligible to win.

Other than that, the rules are the same as any given Warhammer 40K tournament - points are given for sportsmanship, painting and battle. Players are encouraged to bring scenery, if you are able to provide a table's worth of scenery please contact the organiser. Scenery does not contribute to the overall army weight.

Warhammer Raw

presented by Bitter Jade Productions

Tired of scummy students and other layabouts winning the Warhammer tourney just because they have time to paint their figurines while you are out slaving and paying taxes so they can bludge about, make that better figurine and beat you on the day? So are we!

Warhammer Raw is the answer to your problems and ours. Only unpainted and/or unassembled figurines are acceptible army constituents. No more will there be that insipid little voice whining "but you can see that he has etheric battle armour if you use this magnifying glass" just as you go to crush an army commander. No more of the "I'm used the time while you were working hard to paint my orc troop individually so you can see their name badges" stealing the prize from those of us who have the money to buy extra figures and the skill to win in battle.

To further ensure that only serious collectors and armchair generals will be able to participate, we are raising the army limit to 2,500 points; additionally, if you can present a receipt for more than 50% of your army that demonstrates they were bought in the week leading up to the Con, we will waive that limit.
