FauxCon

Ratings and Icons

FauxCon is dedicated to ensuring that all players who come to the convention have a good time. Part of that is ensuring that blurbs have an accurate depiction of the game content - false advertising is nobody's friend.

And part of the blurbs are the game ratings which are listed at the bottom of each blurb, and the icon to the right. These ratings let you know what the writer is expecting to be presenting in terms of Adult Content, Characterisation, Rules or Genre Knowledge and Seriousness. Most of the ratings are from 1-5, except Adult Content, which uses an approximate G, PG, M, MA rating. Obviously, the higher the rating, the more important the writer feels the category is to their game

The icons require a little more explanation:

Game may contain content disturbing to the vision impaired, or has a high handout component and is therefore unsuited to the aforementioned.
Game may depicit the downtrodden lesser classes in a humourous or stereotypical way.
Game has horror components
Game probably won't happen.
The game requires some musical ability from the players.
Most of the game action happens at night
Game contains animals.
